VKontakte announces a competition to create a photo editor for iPhone

Russian social network VKontakte announces a competition to develop a photo editor for iPhone. The prize fund is 1M RUR. The sum of money will be distributed between the creators of best applications.

As before, the social network provides developers with a desired appearance of the application, which must be accurately reproduced. In addition to the appearance, the developers need to achieve high speed of application’s work: the initial load, the speed of image processing and filters applying, all animations must be smooth and well thought.

The finished application should be submitted by 9 p.m. on October 7, 2012.

Special attention during the evaluation work will be given to the implementation of quality photo filters. Unstable and unfinished applications will not be admitted to participate in the competition.

Thus, VKontakte intends to clone Instagram, the most popular program for iPhone, which allows editing pictures and sharing them.
