A new technopark Start on Yamal

Innovation and technology center Start, that costs 1 B RUR, was opened in Gubkinsky city (Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug).

The construction of Start innovation and technology center consists of two stages. More than five hectares of industrial area are given for the implementation of the first stage. New facilities have already been built: a workshop for the plastic bags production, which plans to launch a production line for plastic ceilings and windows, Gefest electric laboratory, Kuznechny Dvor private enterprise, oxygen plant and metal extraction site. Two fright transport and automobiles service stations are placed here. It is planned to build a hotel, camping and parking in the near future.

Valery Lebedevich, the Head of Gubkinsky Administration, stressed at the opening ceremony that the industrial park is an open district site, and the city is ready to cooperate with all the Yamal entrepreneurs.

The second stage presupposes the cultivation of seventeen hectares of the industrial zone. It is planned to build a gas turbine power plant with a capacity of 5 MW, a poultry plant producing 400 tons of broiler meat per year, as well as a greenhouse within one hectare area to grow vegetables using Dutch technology.

All in all it is planned to implement ten investment projects within the industrial park - business plans of four projects have already been developed.

Today one in ten of Gubkinsky citizens are involved in business. Twenty five private enterprises operate in the city employing 2500 people.
