GetTaxi and Taxi.Yandex introduce the possibility to pay by bankcards

Two taxi services - GetTaxi and Taxi.Yandex – have announced the launch of a cashless payment system. Now you can pay for a taxi by your bankcard.

Users of Taxi.Yandex app for Android devices can now pay for a ride by a credit card provided that it is linked to their Money.Yandex account. GetTaxi users can link their bankcard to GetTaxi mobile app and pay directly from the application.

More than half of drivers who cooperate with Taxi.Yandex accept cashless payment. The driver can give you a check just like when you pay cash.

GetTaxi services are available in 20 cities around the world. In addition to Russia, the company operates in Israel, the UK and will soon launch in the U.S. The total volume of the taxi market in these countries, according to Weiser, is $31B, $9B of which accounts for Russia.
