A manufacturer of equipment for nanocomposite thin-film coatings based on Advenira's solutions plans to select a site for the construction of its facilities in Russia next year, the executive director and founder of Rusnano's portfolio company Elvira Ryabova said at a meeting with Russian journalists in the U.S.
According to her, the financial side of the plans is currently being worked out, and the construction should start by March 2013. Advenira considers different sites to build the plant in, including special economic zone in St. Petersburg, Kaliningrad and Krasnoyarsk.
Recall that Advenira Enterprises was founded in 2010 by a group of Russian scientists, led by Ryabova, the company received investment from Rusnano in the amount of 960M RUR in December, 2011 through its subsidiary RUSNANO USA, which was established by the state corporation in 2010 for foreign investments.
Advenira coatings are used to protect microelectronics, in the production of energy-efficient glass and solar panels. The company has a site in the U.S. with its own fully equipped laboratory and the first test machine. Ryabova said that the cost of labor, facilities, and electricity in the U.S. is high, everything is very expensive, so it doesn't make any sense. Therefore, the company is considering the possibility of building capacities in Russia in order to launch the mass production of its equipment.
